Colorful Denver Wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch

You can’t convince me that there is a greater joy than summer in the mountains. But if you combine it with a wedding celebrating a couple who is just so deeply in love, that might just be the definition of “perfection”. Documenting Elle and Ryan’s colorful Denver wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch was worth every rain shower and gloomy cloud overhead. Between their hype bridal party, attention to detail, and fun personalities, it was absolutely a wedding for the books.

Frisco, Colorado Engagement Session

The first time Chuck and I met Elle and Ryan in person was during their engagement session in Frisco. Elle envisioned wildflowers galore — so we did everything we could to find the perfect location for their mountain engagement photos. While getting to know them, we learned that the couple loves nothing more than spending time with their nieces and nephews, going to concerns, taking any excuse to sip a cocktail, and cozying up at home listening to their growing record collection.

But the thing that stood out most to us during our time together last summer was just how well they complemented one another. Ryan brings a ton of personality and outgoingness to their relationship, with such an easy cadence. While Elle is the more reserved one, her humor and charm feel like sunshine. Witnessing Ryan and Elle are just one of those couples who undoubtedly are each other’s best friend and greatest adventure, all wrapped into one.

A year later, we were all back in the mountains again — but this time, to celebrate Elle and Ryan’s marriage. The day arrived with nothing but rain in the forecast. And while rain can certainly put a damper on things, this sweet couple took everything in stride. Every little detail was selected with such care and intention, even down to the gorgeous green heels on Elle’s feet. Despite the gray skies overhead, color was bursting all around this breathtaking summer wedding. The bridesmaids wore mismatched colors and patterns, and carried different bouquets of florals. Truly such a fun, trendy color palette.

As beautiful and awestruck as every detail was of Elle and Ryan’s colorful Denver wedding, the best part was witnessing more of just how deep their love runs for one another. When their ceremony had to be moved inside due to the rain, they rolled with the punches, and still exchanged the most heartfelt vows. As if the Lord Himself was thanking them for their grace, the evening brought clear skies overhead to allow guests to dance the night away.

A colorful wedding party cheers for the bride and groom during wedding party portraits.

Denver, Colorado Wedding Photography and Videography

While I sit here reflecting on Elle and Ryan’s colorful Denver wedding at Spruce Mountain Ranch, I am transported back to all the warmth I felt that day documenting such a beautiful love story. After every session with a couple, I find myself overcome with gratitude (and a lot of sappiness) because I can’t believe just how thankful I am to get to preserve so many couples’ biggest moments. And that’s all thanks to YOU.
