Midsummer Adventurous Elopement in Buena Vista, Colorado

While it’s hard to choose a β€œfavorite place” in all of Colorado, Buena Vista sure takes the cake. And finding a couple who loves this hidden gem as much as I do feels like the biggest win. Scout and Edward traveled all the way from Mississippi to say, β€œI do” among the most breathtaking views featuring turquoise waters and endless mountains. Their midsummer adventurous elopement in Buena Vista, Colorado was will have me pinching myself for the foreseeable future.

Newlyweds head to Main Street Tavern to celebrate their wedding with cocktails and pool.

Adventurous Elopement in Buena Vista

Let me tell ya: these Southern belles are a dynamic duo. They traveled all the way to Buena Vista ready to hike and soak up every last mountain view. If you’ve kept up with Chuck and my adventures over on the β€˜Gram, you’ll know that we love any excuse to immerse ourselves in all the beauty that Colorado has to offer. As a Colorado elopement photography and videography duo, it’s the greatest blessing to find couples who want nothing more than to do exactly that.

Scout and Edward’s adventurous elopement started at the Lost Lake trailhead. We had an easy 45 minute hike up the mountainside to the lake, where we were greeted by insanely blue waters. Once we arrived to the ceremony spot, Scout and Edward changed into their wedding attire. As much as I love a good first look, it was so romantic watching the duo help each other out on their best day ever. After getting ready (to which they looked like Hollywood royalty), it was time for their ceremony to begin. Overlooking Lost Lake, a local officiant performed the ceremony, allowing for Scout and Edward to exchange their heartfelt handwritten vows.

After it was β€œofficial”, we spent some time at the lake taking magical newlywed portraits. Scout’s dress fit her like a glove, but the cherry on top was absolutely her classy veil. And Edward was serving some serious James Bond vibes with his tuxedo and bowtie. As soon as we made the hike back to the trailhead, we were spoiled with the clouds clearing and the most intense alpenglow peeking through. It was such a welcome surprise to help celebrate these sweet newlyweds. We took our time soaking in the views and the last fleeting moments of daylight before making the short drive into town to get the party started.

Once we arrived in Buena Vista, it was time to let loose with some pool, cocktails, and cigars at Main Street Tavern. How Chuck and I scored such a rad couple to spend the day alongside is beyond us, because the moody bar-hopping vibes were everything! It was the perfect way to wrap up Scout and Edward’s midsummer adventurous elopement in Buena Vista, Colorado.
