Maroon Bells Summer Engagement Session

An engaged couple frolics along a path in the Maroon Bells during their Aspen, CO engagement session.

Summer in the mountains of Colorado is unmatched, especially when it includes photographing a beautiful couple. Eliza and Trent’s Maroon Bells summer engagement session in Aspen, Colorado couldn’t have been more picturesque or magical. After an afternoon spent frolicking in the mountains, dancing in the rain, we headed downtown for cocktails at a western bar. Talk about the best way to wrap up an engagement session!

Summer Engagement Session in the Maroon Bells

Chuck and I first met Eliza and Trent when we were documenting a breathtaking wedding along Minnesota’s North Shore in 2024. Eliza was actually a bridesmaid during the intimate wedding, so we all got very well acquainted with one another. Flash forward just a little over a year later, Eliza and Trent filled out an inquiry form. They mentioned how much fun they had with us in Minnesota, how comfortable we made everyone feel, and how much they enjoyed the coloring of our imagery. It felt like the highest compliment, especially coming from someone who had already seen us in action.

Eliza and Trent are saying, β€œI do” in Aspen this year, so it was only fitting that they visited the Maroon Bells for their dreamy engagement session. I can’t even express just how magical their session was. Overcast skies hung overhead as Eliza and Trent came to life as literal models in front of the lens. Every bit of greenery surrounding us was lush and vibrant against the misty skies, creating such an ethereal atmosphere. Before we knew it, a light rain began to fall, making the vibes even dreamier. Despite the rain falling, these love birds embraced it. And what would an engagement session be without poking some fun at the classic β€œJCPenney awkward family photos”?! We made sure to snag a couple awkward photos in the rain, and couldn’t stop giggling.

After drying off, we made our way to downtown Aspen, Colorado to Kemo Sabe. Because Eliza and Trent are planning a western-inspired wedding, we absolutely had to head to a saloon for some fun flash photos and cocktails. These cuties donned cowboy hats, sipped whiskey, and really just leaned into the entire vibe. It was the perfect way to end their Maroon Bells summer engagement session. And it’s safe to say that Chuck and I are absolutely giddy at the thought of documenting their Aspen wedding!
